“Some Ashtavaidyas say the variations in the timing of the treatments according to the ailments give better results.  These are as follows:

  • Apana disorders: supplements are taken before the meal or with the first bite
  • Samana disorders: supplements are taken during the meals
  • Vyana disorders: supplments are taken immediately after the first meal
  • Udana disorders: supplements are taken immediately before the evening meal
  • Prana disorders: repeated doses of supplements are prescribed with each bite of food including the last bite.”
